Why Fantana is Struggling to Produce Hit Songs

After entering Ghana showbiz for more than a year, Rufftown Records signee Fantana, is yet to the limelight. Is she being suppressed by Wendy Shay, the self-acclaimed queen of Ghana music?

Here is everything you need to know about why Fantana is struggling to produce hit songs.

The last time Fantana made serious waves on social media, it was rather for an unfortunate reason. This had to do with her famous pad scandal.

Reportedly, the budding songstress was prepping for a show when all of a sudden her menses appeared. This forced her to put on a pad which later showed its face to the public, and spoiled Fantana’s performance.

Coming up next is everything you need to know about Fantana, and her struggling music career at Rufftown records.

Fantana and Wendy Shay Beef
About a year ago, Rufftown CEO (Bullet), introduced Fantana as the latest female artist to join his successful record label.

Prior to her relocation to Ghana to start a music career, the “rich gyal anthem”crooner was living in the United States.

In her first radio interview in Ghana, Fantana, an ex-convict, explained that it was Wendy Shay who introduced her to Bullet. She would later refute those claims.

A few months later after joining Rufftown Records, Fantana and Wendy Shay’s good relationship began to develop deep cracks.

As Ola Rotimi of the Gods Are Not to Blameputs it — “Two rams cannot drink water from the same bucket; they will lock horns.”

Call it competition, pride, selfishness or whatever you like — the truth is that many Ghanaians predicted that it was impossible for two female artists to co-exist peacefully under the same label.

Wendy Shay’s personality shows that she’s the no-nonsense kind of girl. And since Fantana is also the hardcore type of girl, her beef with Wendy Shay is pretty normal. The only problem is that Fantana is not benefiting from the hype around their grudge.

From the look of things as of now, Wendy Shay keeps rising with hit songs such as “Emergency”, while Fantana’s fame is hitting the rocks, partly due to her disrespectful character.

There are also speculations that Fantana’s beef with Wendy Shay may be affecting her negatively, and that’s why music wise, she’s not “hitting”.

Fantana’s Songs
Fantana’s most popular song is “So What”. That was her very first track. She followed that up with other songs like “Girls Hate on Girls”(probably directed at Wendy Shay), “Rich Gyal Anthem”, and a couple of other songs. But sadly, none of her tracks have broken barriers.

If Fantana is really talented, she still has some time to carve out a good brand for herself. Let’s see whether she can pull a surprise comeback.
