The second economic support payment of Australians on low incomes will kick off this week with about five million Australians receiving the amount of $750.
The first $750 payment was delivered in April and March
This action is part of the numerous support measures taken by the Morrison government in the fight against the corona virus pandemic.
In an interview with ABC, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said “this cash payment is part of a comprehensive suite of measures we have announced”
The payment will be granted to Australians on commonwealth support, pensioners, those on carers payments, veterans and other income support recipient as well as other eligible concession card holders.
However, according to 9news.com.au, Service Australia said recipient of the first round of $750 will not necessarily receive the second round if they are receiving the coronavirus supplement of $550 a fortnight.
Also, the Government Service Minister Stuart Robert said there is no need to do anything to get the assistance.
“If eligible, people will see the $750 payment arrive in their bank account between 15 July 2020 and the end of July 2020,” he said.
