Award-winning Ghanaian reggae dancehall artist Abdul Razak aka Iwan, is set to release his 9th studio album titled The Return. Also best known as Lyrical Gunshot, Iwan is one of the originators of reggae dancehall music in Ghana and Africa. If you’re a music fanatic who knows the ins and outs of iwan, then you have probably heard his “That Day Will Come” and “Who’s Bad” reggae tunes.

As a pioneer, Iwan was also the first Ghanaian musician to be honored with a reggae dancehall award in GH. He has also won VGMA awards under the Best Reggae Dancehall Song of the Year category, including Bass Awards and 4Syte Awards.

Posting on Facebook to announce his upcoming  album, iwan said, “The Return No.9.. Iwan Suhyini. Officially out on all digital shops from Monday 21st September. Thanks to all acts, producers, studios, and instrument players who took part in the production of this timeless album. #GideonForce #The Return”.

Around early 2010, Lyrical Gunshot shook the Ghana music vigorously with monster hit songs. He did this alongside artists like Five5 under the Bullhouse Entertainment record label, rising to prominence with his hit album My Time.

The Dagomba shining star has not been heard in the music atmosphere for quite some time now. And since the fans miss his voice on the mic, iwan is back in the game for good. Gideon Force is Iwan’s signature label.

Iwan’s Beef with Shatta Wale and Samini

Following Shatta Wale’s magical rebranding and second coming in 2013, Iwan and Shatta Wale soon became fierce rivals who fought over the Dancehall King throne. They even released diss songs to each other; this beef helped increase Shatta Wale’s popularity. Since then, the two haven’t seen eye to eye on music affairs.

Along the line, Samini also found himself beefing Lyrical Gunshot for no good reason.

Nevertheless, Iwan says he’s unstoppable.  Expect great sense in his over 20-tracks album which comes out on September 21, 2020.
