Patapaa’s Music Career Dead After His Near-Death Experience?

0

One Corner hit-maker Patapaa Amisty, aka Justice Amoah, has not trended for a while now. What’s wrong with the Pa2Pa leader?

A few years ago, Patapaa was the most sought-after Ghanaian artiste. In fact, one can say that he was the biggest musician in Ghana when he rose to prominence with One Corner. In 2017/2018, Patapaa would play big shows here and there.

Even after suffering disappointing losses in the 2018 VGMAs, Patapaa came back stronger, and released a couple of songs. However, his subsequent solo tracks didn’t gain the necessary attention. Have you been wondering about Patapaa’s state of affairs? Well, we are too.

Here’s a brief overview of the One Corner hit-maker, and what he’s up to.

Patapaa’s Faces Near Death Experience

In December 2019, Patapaa nearly went back to his maker. Allegedly, the Hiplife act was poisoned when he went to perform a show in Tarkwa. Following his recovery from poisoning, the Pa2Pa Soja later admitted that he went through hell and nearly lost his young life.

According to sources close to the musician cum comedian, Patapaa was poisoned when he requested for an energy drink while preparing to run a show. Lo and behold, Prophet Eagle’s Patapaa food-poisoning prophecy was fulfilled.

The musician was hospitalized afterwards. He vomited and passed out black and bloody stools. But thanks to the timely intervention of doctors and his spiritual fathers, Patapaa recovered from the food poisoning.

But his music life and influence didn’t remain the same afterwards. The Scopatumana pioneer has not been musically alive since his near death experience.

Pataapa’s Music Trends

In the same 2019, Patapaa trended everywhere when he delivered the controversial “scopatumana” rap verse in his collaboration with Kawula. Apart from his “one corner” hit track, Patapaa’s other successful music works are his “Olale” song featuring Mr. Ezi, and then “That Thing'” featuring Article Wan.

When you take a look at his music trends so far, it looks as though Patapaa hasn’t released any other serious hit songs after One Corner.

For example, in 2020, the Swedru talent churned out songs such as “My Lady”, “Adam Konkonsa” “Cheetah FC” and most recently, “Coronavirus”. Unfortunately, none of the above new songs made waves.

This leads many Ghanaians to wonder whether Patapaa’s music career is dead or still alive. Well, we are not in normal times. Maybe the Covid-19 Pandemic is affecting Pataapa’s music output.

Interestingly, amidst all the uncertainty surrounding his future in Ghana music, it’s believed that Pataapa has big plans to marry his white girlfriend. If that’s the case, then he is really a legend. Let’s wish Pataapa well.
