The Sad End of Apraku My Daughter, a ‘Fake Pastor’.

On Tuesday, May 19, Ghanaians woke up to a viral video of one ‘fake pastor’ by the name Apraku My Daughter.

Allegedly, the ex-pastor’s cup got full when drunkenness made nonsense of his ministerial career, leaving behind a miserable-looking Apraku My Daughter who staggers around uncompleted buildings, while some female onlookers video-tape him amidst laughter.

But how did a popular Man of God end up becoming a great drunkard and a laughing stock to society?

To answer that question, you need to look back at some historical pages of Apraku My Daughter, when he was a successful evangelist in Kumasi.

So, who’s Apraku My Daughter?

Here’s what we know about him so far.

According to reports, Apraku My Daughter (also known as Emmanuel Apraku) was a great Ghanaian pastor, who in the early 90s, founded the King Jesus Evangelistic Ministry International, Kumasi.

However, his church collapsed during the latter years.

The former religious minister once revealed in an interview that his ministry fell apart when he traveled abroad.

Apraku then returned to Ghana only to meet an empty congregation. All his junior pastors had deserted him.

Following this unfortunate event,  the 25 church branches belonging to Apraku My Daughter, came crashing down in front of him.

This marked the beginning of the end of his glory days.

Apraku My Daughter Dies After Viral Video

Just a few weeks ago, rumors sparked in the media that Apraku My Daughter was dead.

However, it later turned out Apraku wasn’t dead until after his viral video surfaced on social media.

News of the former pastor’s death was confirmed on late afternoon of May 20, 2020.

His sudden demise broke hell lose as social media users pour in their condolences, while wondering what happened to the preacher during his final moments.

Ace journalist Kofi Adomah of Kofi TV, visited the Kasoa residence of the late pastor to interact with his bereaved family members.

Granting a tearful interview to Kofi TV on Facebook Live, Apraku My Daughter’s ex-wife admitted that their relationship fell on the rocks a long time ago (somewhere around 2003). She wished her ex-husband had taken her good advice — perhaps this tragedy wouldn’t have befallen him.

There are accounts that gospel singer Sonnie Badu, and other sympathetizers, promised to help the late Apraku shortly before his death.

More Disturbing Scenes from Apraku My Daughter’s Viral Video

From one angle, the trending video cast a sorry image of a heavily intoxicated “Apraku My Daughter” who was wearing tattered clothes, and torn green slippers (more like a madman).

His protruding belly, shaky legs, and wretched appearance, set him up for laughter as some women dared to beat him while making mockery of the massively deformed pastor.

All that while, Apraku My Daughter asked the women to leave him alone.

The unknown camera-wielding woman called out his name, and expressed her utter dismay at the negative transformation in the pastor’s appearance.

When the woman started recording him, in preparedness to show his sad end to the prying eyes of social media, Apraku My Daughter stepped closer to them in an attempt to snatch the camera.

But where was the energy for that action? Apraku was nothing short of a walking ghost.

He struggled to carry himself away from the chaotic drama that was unfolding. This gave more time for the woman to charge on him with offensive reactions.

Finally, the end of the footage saw the woman compare the pastor’s doomed life to the downfall of the biblical King Nebuchadnezzar.

According to the woman’s narrative, Apraku My Daughter’s debacle is the result of his fake persona.

“Do you see how God has reduced you to nothing today?”, the woman quizzed the drunk former pastor.

Interestingly, Apraku My Daughter responded with a chain of funny Twi insults — “Fa wo gyimi sem k)… Wa gyimi tantan”.

(Translation: Go away with your foolishness… You are too stupid“)

Well, Apraku was not happy about the woman’s conduct. Nevertheless, his video went online.

Unfortunately, just after trending on social media, and getting near to receiving help, Apraku My Daughter died. A police team went to pick up his corpse.

Meanwhile, the identity of the woman who recorded the viral video is still in question.

Even though no one knows what actually killed Apraku My Daughter, some people have blamed his sudden death on the anonymous woman who recorded the video.

Bottom Line: Fake Prophets

The fake pastors in Ghana outnumber the genuine ones. If Apraku My Daughter was actually a fake pastor, as it has been reported, then his fate appears to be a serious warning to religious ministers

Their days are numbered! Indeed, no one knows tomorrow.

It’s high time the government addressed the issue of religious con men in Ghana.
